sets sail for the U.K. and beyond!

CRANBERRY TWP. — October
25, 2005—Rev.
Dr. Charles J. Alkula is a US Navy chaplin and a clergy
from the Nebraska Annual Conference of the United Methodist
Church. Lt. Alkula is assigned to a community,  that
is by the nature of the Navy, somewhat scattered around Crownwall
in
the southwest part of the United Kingdom. As part of his
Doctoral work, a project entitled Out of Many, One: The Formation
of a Community of Faith in the Sea Services,
Rev. Alkula set out to aid those who struggle with
their journey and look to
their chaplain for help along the way by
creating
a
"living
resource". His web site www.SeaServiceFaith.com,
which is only a small part of his current ministry,
represents
the ongoing
efforts
to
"
provide a resource for those who are in
ministry to the Sea Service community;
a place
for
pilgrims,
seekers,
skeptics
who are looking for assistance on their pilgrimage of faith."
Recently Rev. Alkula
added Simply Christian's Churches (OSS)
as a resource available to those families he serves. "When
Rev. Alkula contacted us about making the OSS available to
the families of the service men he serves,
we were trilled and wanted to help any way we could!", says
Marianne C. Ferrans, co-founder of the Simply Christian ministry. Marianne
adds, "We never
imagined the OSS being made available overseas to the families
of
those
who
serve
our country
in
our Navy. This is very exciting! Rev. Alkula's
creative ministry uses technology to connect his ministry
to the
families of our service men who may be scattered about the
southwest part of the U.K. and beyond."

Sunday School™ (OSS):
The OSS is a great way for your church (or ministry) to further the
Sunday school experience for churches,
parents, teachers, and children. From the privacy of their own home or from any
computer (abroad), parents and their children can have access to their church's
Sunday school Bible readings and a suite of related interactive puzzles, quizzes,
and
games. Teachers can download lessons and activities. The Bible reading
and activities are updated weekly, providing the children with a new and different
