Shared Ministry provides computers to the families of students attending Imani Christian Academy.

CRANBERRY TWP. —  May 22, 2007— The shared ministry effort of Simply Christian, New Community Church, and the North Pittsburgh Users Mac Group (NPUMG) has already delivered 70 G3 iMac computers to the familes of students attending the Imani Christian Academy during the Spring semester.  There are plans underway to possibly expand the program in the Fall to include G4 Macintoshes.

"I can tell you that the students are so appreciative of this opportunity and the list of students who wish to purchase a computer continues to grow daily!", says Joyce Tompkins, Assistant to the Headmaster Elder Milton E. Raiford. 

During a tour of the school, this past Winter, the idea of helping students obtain their first computer so they may be able to continue, at home, what they have been learning during the day at school.  The ministry raised the donations needed, refurbished many of the computers, provided educational software and Microsoft Office® with each computer, and delivered the computers to families of Imani students.  The families purchase the computers for $25.
